no it isn't HE being only 91db/w @ 1 metre, but I just wanted to know how many other WR driver users know it!
And what they think! Compared to say a GOOD modern 6.5 WR with pole piece extension and with +3db or more sensitivity!
Note that the ones I'll be using are the ones Coral made with an integral paper dust-cap! Not that chromed button!
I'd be using it from ~250hz/300hz and on up off a good first-order cap! So that filtering starts at or above where the sphere's BDStep starts! the signal to the driver would thus be about 6 to 9db down by 100 hz!
I would be using it with a contemporary (Foster/x ~ 91db/w 25mm soft-dome) tweeter first order @ SAY 15/16K and letting the Coral die on its own, OR use a LPass choke on the Coral and cross the dome in further down, say 6k to 9k.
When we're working up above 10K for HPass, and with 8 ohm spkrs ..... is it practical/possible to find/use a trimmer-capacitor (a vane cap say), that would be worth bothering with!?
