Hi Doug,

May be perceived as heretical, but low efficiency ripoles have some nice attributes (small and directional) for sub bass but are not realistic in the midbass due to resonances. Maybe a high efficiency midbass in a small sealed enclosure with passive crossovers to horns and active crossover to ripole.

Don't get me wrong, a nice driver on a big flat baffle sounds great, depends how much space you have.
