Can open baffle bass unit be mated with horns?

Hi there

I have a nice pair of Fostex 320h horns and JBL compression drivers (2440?). I bought them to build a high-eff speakers but I could not find a good source for bass reflex cabinets yet.
Suddenly, I found Emerald Physics CS-2 is using 2 15" woofers on open baffles, so a question arose in me.

Will open baffle bass unit do well with horns? I think the crossover between the bass unit and horn should be 600-800 Hz, and I have no idea if this will work.
