Yeah: I know that even number order crossover types invert polarity and odd number one don't. Still, I stand by what I stated: Proacs invert polarity on their woofers. I determine this not by looking at the crossover and the connecting points but simply from listening. Try a piano solo: the played notes are not consistent from woofer to tweeter. Some people are sensitive to this, some are not. Some hear it, some ignore it, some do not hear it or perhaps do not recognize it.
I do find when drivers are in the same polarity, soundstaging is significantly improved, but drivers must have a vertically symmetric arrangement in order to augment the effect. You can try this with mini monitors with mirror imaged offset tweeters. The Reference Da Capos are a good example. Tweeters in board and a vertical line drawn through the center of the drivers will demonstrate a downward throw of the soundstage shrinking the image. reversing the position, tweeters outboard will create a significantly taller soundstage and the vertical axis is now thrown higher in the center.
