Tannoy once made a driver with a 6-inch voice coil and 500 watt power handling capacity that achieved a sensitivity of 142 dB at 1 metre for 1 watt input. Apparently, it took two men to lift the magnet.
But, for a music forum, it's not really a contender for "most efficient speaker in the world," because it was severely bandwidth limited and designed as a foghorn speaker for lighthouses.
