I have been studying the Linkwitz site. He has a really thorough explanation of the dipole subs, and a circuit to do the equalization.

Nice part is his dipole sub to midrange crossover rolls off at 120Hz, which is where the small 4" drivers I'm using naturally roll off as well..The bass drivers I'm using are the sony 12" closeout that actually are pretty well built (for $8.00). I've tested them in free air, no problems. Idea is to build a 20 driver full range dipole that can be driven from 120-20Hz with a 45 2 W amp, and a low power SS on the bottom. For about $100./pair. As my son just got me going on how to build a web page, I'll be posting links to my progress here on occasion. I am comparing dammar to lacquer treatment right now.
