At a buck each, go for either 8 per side or 16 per side. Another option is 4 per side, but it really depends on room size.
Forfot to mention these are "shielded", but not 100%, which possibly is why they are on sale.
Your impedance in parallel/series hook up will be -
4 - 8 ohm
8 - 4 or 16 ohm
16 - 8 ohmI would use a tall open back baffle, around 12-18" inches wide.
Offset the drivers with the center at 4.5" from inner edge (12"wide)
or 6" from inside for 16" wide. Build mirror image pairs.
Put a triangular support running from the top to the bottom on the back of the outer edge (about 24 inches wide at the base of the triangle. Magneplanar owners report this triangle support in back sounds much better. I am waiting for my drivers to arrive, so can't give you any more tips till I start messing around.
FWIW, I also plan to use a dipole sub with these using 4 12" drivers per side (also cheap from PE).Bob
