I hate it when freddyi deletes his own post
while I am typing a reply... Something about
a smaller K with a beta8cx. And nobody who
build em ever shares info.

Whatever, I wasn't gonna answer the direct
question anyway. but hijack that thread and
take it a wholenother direction.

I suspect the Hemholtz resonators in back
don't scale the same as the Koupler in
Front. Perhaps why the 12inch version is
so hard to get right...

Waveguides.. I know something bout em
from microwave electronics (like Karlson).
But little experience using them for audio.

But it seems one thing should be true for
both. The phase front inside the guide is
built of a main wave plus refections from
the sidewalls. And appears to shorten in
physical length as a waveguide gets wider.

But here the waveguide terminating into
the Koupler is getting both shorter and
skinnier. A kinda double whammy.

Something to think about.
