waveguide/horn for 12" coax?

hello,
i have a pair of b&c 12" coax (12cxb) and wonder if i should put them in a short horn or a waveguide. more efficiency is nice, but not my goal.
the directivity in the lower mids should be better and the tweeter sees a larger horn.

has anybody experience with a frontloaded coax design?
