I asked about this on James' forum...and I've integrated all the info I've seen there and on AA. Here's my suggestion for Dammar'ing the 40-1197's, FWIW. Apply one coat of Dammar varnish UNDILUTED and let dry overnight. Give a listen at that point if you like... you'll already hear quite a difference. Apply another coat undiluted and let dry over another night... Now they should sound pretty good, and I'd recommend living with them for a while after two fullstrength coats.

This is based mostly on Thorsten's input, BTW.

Don't know what to recommend for the PE drivers...maybe try 1 coat fullstrength and see what's you gets :-)
