You can pick up some 4" (almost) full range at Parts Express if you want to play around with experimental line arrays, etc.
Part Number 269-469
Paper cone w/cloth surround, ~90dB, Qt ~ .6, Fs ~ 120Hz
These are good from about 130-18K - I have two that I measured, just bought 40 more. They measure fairly flat, at worst +/- 5dB, at best much better, not bad for the price. I was going to build a 16 speaker line array, around 6' tall for grins. Should end up at 8 ohms, well over 100dB efficiency. Will need another driver for the low end, though. Price is right at $0.95 (yessir 95 cents) each
They said they had 20,000 in stock. If there is interest, maybe i could post my measurements somewhere.Addendum - just looked the the FE103 curve posted by someone else, these are much flatter than that, essentially flat right up to 18kHz.
There is a little peakiness from 1-5 kHz, and a broad perhaps 2-3 dB rise above 10kHz, but off axis this goes away. Definitely check these out for the $$$ - I'll have more listening impressions after my 16 speaker array is done, curves up by this weekendBob
