Open baffle speakers - would a round baffle be best?

My latest speaker interest lies with the Bastanis Prometheus open baffle. I'll email the designer to pick his brain, but was wondering if anyone had any opinion of the open baffle design - in regards to the best shape/dimenion of the front baffle. Would a round baffle be best for a round speaker so that sound radiates uniformly from the speaker? Perhaps if that were the case, I would have seen more examples of them but just have not come across any. Do we not see larger baffles due to WAF and/or other practical reasons?
