Simmonds---Wrong, horns can work fine in small rooms. I've hear many horns sounding good in small rooms. Much will depend on the dispersion pattern, a narrow pattern horn tweeter like a JBL 2402 will fry your ears in a small room but the wider dispersion slots and catseyes will sound good, same goes for mid horns. I suspect that some of the horns with a reputation for needing big rooms have poor pattern control. Or maybe people think big speakers=big rooms, though I don't know why that would be.
