I have not compared the 'C222ES and 'C555ES in my home, but I have done the comparison several times in stores. The 'C555ES is more dynamic and lively. Some like the phrase "data retrieval", and I would say the 'C555ES does it better than the 'C222ES. With the 'C555ES, more detail comes through. Bass is better, for example. The 'C222ES would have served me well in my second system, but when the drawer started to c%ap out, I went with what I was familar with as a replacement -- the 'C555ES.
