New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

"hardware is their business"

exactly. I can't believe anyone would read anything into Crutchfield discontinuing SACD sales. They don't sell software! They sell hardware! Crutchfield is going to compete with Tower, CDNow, HMV, etc. for Internet/catalog cd/sacd sales?

How about this as an alternative/half-full argument:

SACD is a new format. Crutchfield sells SACD players. SACDs were not available at retailers. In the interest of supporting hardware sales, Crutchfield decides to stock a few discs. Eventually, software becomes more widely available, there is no reason for them to continue to stock discs.

Is there anyone here who was ever thought - I wonder if Crutchfield has the new xxx disc?
