You can check with Richard Kern, ModWright, Stan Warren or Ric Shultz, to mention a few modifiers. They may either already mave experience with your player or might be experienced with others of the same brand.

There are a lot of people modifying, say Pioneer DVD players for CD transports, but you'll see their posts on the Digital Drive board.

Some here have modified their Marantz SACD players as well. I expect that the reason you hear the most about the Sony's being modified is that most of the SACD players sold came from Sony :)
