I have not heard the Rattle set that I mentioned, in either its plain old CD or its Japanese SACD incarnation, so I can't say. Some of Rattle's older Haydn performances (with the CBSO) were pretty uninfected by HIP (e.g., Symphony No. 22, etc.), but he may have changed his approach (as Abbado did) in his more recent performances.
