Harmonia Mundi( France) are offering Hi-Rez downloads with purchases of some of their CD issues.
I have been trying to download the 24/96 version of the Andreas Staier recording of Bach harpsichord concerti.
One goes to the Club website and enters a code that accompanies the silver disc purchase. There is no custom download mananager and the format used by them is a zip file (presumably) containing a series of flac files. I say presumably as after 4 attempts I have been unable to complete the download (a 2.3 Gb zip file). Every time I download for , say, 20 mins then the process fails. I have tried switching off my anti-virus program and even played with my laptop's power saver settings to ensure that it does not go to sleep whilst downloading - not that that should happen. All to no effect.
Any ideas? BTW, with a proper download manager as used by other music sites then a download of this size would only take a few minutes. I am using Firefox and its inbuilt download facility. Estimated download time varies from 40 mins to just over 1hr. I could try the new MS Edge browser - likley to help?
