Below is a post at CA about the problem.
It's possible you haven't added any music to your player since the update. Do you notice a "?" in a white box on your screen?
Here's a not so funny story. This update problem kicked in at the exact time I was downloading The Beatles 2009 USB 24/44 stereo album collection. I got greedy and transferred all 14 albums at one go, then my HAP goes into "updating database" mode for two days. Give me a break. It totally ruined two vacation days for me.
Grasping at straws I did a web search, and came up with the link. Just my luck to happen when it did.
Bottom line; don't update your database until you get the all clear.
