Mods to my OPPO BDP-105

I've been reading about popular modifications to the Oppo BDP-105 and they seem to center on two areas; upgrading the output capacitors and upgrading the power supply diodes on the audio board.

Luckily, the audio output board, on the right side, is easy to access and remove, which makes the upgrades much easier. Just pop the top and disconnect the cables running to the board and you can remove it easily.

Replace the two outside larger caps (100uf Elna Silmics) on the center group (the main 2-channel RCA output jacks) with the caps of your choice. I used a pair of Black Gate NX 47uf caps. You could even use 10uf poly caps if you wanted.

I also replaced the 8 power supply diodes on the board with Fairchild stealth diodes from Percy Audio. You could also use shottky diodes if you like.

I put it all back together and it sounds much more focused, airy and smoother, well worth doing.
