RE: SACD vs Downloading

As with most music albums the recording and mastering are much more important than the medium. I prefer SACD as the physical medium largely because it's at least as good sonically (all things being equal). I like having the printed music album material (even though not comparable to LP). And I don't have to worry about file backup.

I have purchased hirez downloads mostly where the SACD is not available, a few have been very good (e.g. Analogue Productions, Bluecoast Music). It took effort to optimize the Windows software on my laptop, rip my RBCD library, setup a backup strategy, and connect via USB to my EMM Labs XDS1 v2.

Except for the major labels (e.g.; Analogue Productions, Channel Classics) I'm wary of the providence and SQ of many hirez downloads.
