Yes, I understand that many of the key players left, but some if not most took part-time positions which means that while they joined other orchestras they were not necessarily given permanent contracts.
Seems Union rules allow orchestras to hire a certain percentage of their total musicians under differing contract terms so many were free to return to Minnesota after serving in other orchestras.
Or perhaps my information is incorrect?
