Home Hi-Rez Highway

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

The best way to answer your question is........

to contact an Ayre dealer in your area to arrange an in-home trial of the C5. I live about 150 miles from my nearest Ayre vendor, Audio Consultants in Chicago. I gave them a phone call expressing interest in the redbook-only C7 a few years ago and they sent me their in-store demo C7 player via UPS to audition in my system. Another SACD player you might want to hear through your own setup is the Marantz SA11-S3, which is about $2K less than the MSRP for the Ayre C5. You could probably pickup the Marantz at a street price around $3500. Full disclosure: I own both the C7xe-mp and the SA11-S3. Love 'em.
