RE: Ever have a hybrid SACD whose CD layer sounds better?

Keep in mind that a few hybrid SACDs have different mastering between the CD and SACD layer. Sometimes the mastering is the same between the two but the downsampling will have an audible affect on sound. That alone can make or break what you hear. Some of the CD layers could be downsampled from the source, or fed a split feed technique (separate digital conversion) or have separate masterings.
