Mobile Fidelity CHICAGO VI SACD …. Disappointment

I had great hopes for this disc as it is one of my favorite recordings and never liked my Red Book version. It is little better than the Red Book. The recording seems opaque, lacking in richness and transparency. I have no idea of how it was recorded but I’d bet is a fair amount of overdubbing was involved. It sure wasn’t recorded “live off the floor”. It has been a long time since I played the Lp version but I played the hell out of that thing when it first came out and it sounded way better.
