Compares favorably with original MCA redbook. More openness and detail. A better recording than most rock--probably because the Who didn't get too fancy with the multitracking and Townsend kept the guitar relatively clean. Too bad the multichannel is not available.
I ordered Keith Jarrett - Death and the Flower at the same time and it sounds great too. The percussion audio is phenomenal.
I also preordered Black Sabbath - self titled and Vol 4, both of which come out later this month. Hopefully Sabotage will come next, and that will let me complete the classic Sab titles on SHM SACD. I'm pleased with them so far--should be for what they cost.
