I use the mono price deembedder and also have tried the Atlona one.The plan is to get the highest bitrate do do a digital capture as opposed to analog line out and DSD capture.
I think my Tascam HD-P2 will re-encode the 24/48 or higher rate to whatever I set the tascam to (I did try that and it sounded quite decent) but Im sure i should get the best before I archive.
My other possibility is to just do analog to DSD via a Korg MR2000 (which I have on order) and store the DSD files and make PCM conversions in 24/96 for iTunes/homeserver use.
Im thinking my DACs are not unto the task. I used to Alesis to confirm the bitrate. It does do 88.2 and should have locked on the signal. The cambridge Audio DAC doesn't light up although does process the signal.
