I can understand your position having a multi channel system.
As I said in one of my post a few months ago regarding my feelings
one year on after buying an SACD player that to me SACD does not bring the satisfaction I wished, mainly because of the lack of availability of great performances, SACD for me is purely the cherry on the top, but now I purely buy based on performances that I enjoy.
And being a stereo listener only this makes it very easy
