RE: SACD format "dead and buried'?

I saw Pohlmann's comment and wondered if I'm completely out of touch. I've lost count of the classical SACDs I own, and they're my favored format for new purchases (though I buy used or discounted when possible). Mind you, just because a title's in SACD doesn't necessarily make it much better than Redbook CD, but I've certainly enjoyed the new format. It can excel on simply-miked and minimally-processed recordings of acoustic music, getting so close to vinyl that I no longer think of shiny disks and wonder if I'll cringe when they play. It's too bad some other music genres haven't always benefitted as much, because of how they're typically recorded.
