I would be careful of judging just by somebodys comment, how many of you, have actually heard a strad really in the same room? they can sound pretty raw and rough, especially if recorded closely, and Accardo sometimes does sound like that, in the most positive characteristic manner.
Although I never quite liked his Paganini. I prefer Ricci, Tedi Papavrami is one of the newer interpreters of this music I like! Or Kremers Barracuda variations, and then of course go and listen to the old recordings of Vasha Prihoda!!
but then, i like myself as well, so I am biased to the core ;-)
