I also listen in two channel stereo, the majority of SACDs do have high resolution 2 channel programs.

Britannia
Elgar: “Pomp and Circumstance” Marches Nos. 1 & 4,
Maxwell Davies: An Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise
Turnage: Three Screamimg Popes
MacMillan: Britannia
Britten: Sinfonia da Requiem
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Donald Runnicles (conductor)
Telarc PURE DSD SACD-60677
One of my very favorite Telarc's, the music is a pure joy as is the extremely realistic recording.

Richard Strauss: Josephs Legende
Budapest Festival Orchestra
Ivan Fischer (conductor)
Channel Classic DSD recording CCS SA 24507
I used to think of Josephs Legende as one of Strauss' minor works, well not any more Ivan Fischer makes a great case for the composition to be considered one of Strauss' best. This is my favorite Strauss recording in my collection both from a music and sonic standpoint, outstanding on all counts and I highly recommend it!

Dvorak: Symphony No. 8, The Wild Dove Op. 110, The Noon Witch Op. 108
Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra

Jakov Kreizberg (conductor)
PentaTone DSD recorded PTC 5186 065
I'm collecting this whole series for the wonderful versions of the symphonic poems, which are my true of with Dvorak, the symphonies are excellent as well, next to be is the The Golden Spinning Wheel with Symphony No. 7

"Soliloquy at Cold Mountain Temple"
Chinese National Symphony Orchestra
Li Xin Cao (conductor)
Channel of China DSD recording CCS SA 80406
He is a little something very off the beaten path. And the music of utterly beautiful. This is oriental classical music that is very approachable by western ears. I love it!

Here are some sound samples http://www.jpc.de/jpcng/SESSIONID/d575c748e5c65c2ce5353e65dbaa497f/classic/detail/-/art/Chinesische-Orchesterwerke/hnum/9200931

Alfred Schnittke: Film Music Vols. 1-4
Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin
Frank Strobel (conductor)
Capriccio (available separately, try Vol. 1 first)
This is really exciting and enjoyable film music, think of Shostakovich on steriods, Some of it is really wild. More tonal and approachable than most of Schnittke's classical works of which many of those are also great.

Happy Listening,
Teresa
