What do you mean by DSD discs?

The only DSD recorder (records to removeable DVD-R disc, not memory-only) that I know of is the Tascam DV-RA1000 (either with/without hard drive).. and from what I understand, the discs are Proprietary to this player model only...
What do you mean by DSD format discs?
Your post is confusing, as the title seems to state that the Sony will record in DSD, which it clearly can't.
What are you recording your needle drops onto that allows you to record using DSD, and playback onto the Sony?
