The biggest problem with iLink is that the licensing fees are exorbitant. (It is also unnecessarily complex.) This means that it has never been used by a high-end company. The only products I have ever seen that will accept an iLink connection are surround-sound receivers from Sony, Pioneer, et cetera. I'm sure that the DAC circuitry built into the SA-60 will sound better than decoding the digital signal in a multi-channel receiver.
