depends on the player and whatkind of master was used. I've have three different copies of Kinda Blue, and the one I like best if the latest redbook one. The SACD of Steely Dan's Gaucho is nearly the same when played thru my 9000es or my Yamaha when compaired to what it sounds like on my Jolida. I don't see all that much better imaging (but still a little more width, but about the same in depth). I do often sense more and faster bass. Guess the one thing I do notice is a much more forward presence, but somewhat artificial. I have a YoYo Ma sacd that is so beautiful to listen to it almost brings tears to my eyes, and I know that there's no way they could get that out of a redbook cd. I'd love to have it on an LP. So I'd like to say it varies from recording to recording as well as to what player is being used at the time.
