You all have taken me to another land, a land of crazy expensive equipment I never knew existed. One poster posted equipment that made $15,000 look cheap, Oh my god! I would rather have not know about $15,000 plus components why do you have to ruin my illusions? Why?

How am I suppose to defend audiophile's now when someone calls us crazy kooks? I won't be able to, I'll just be able to say at least I am not as crazy as some of the really rich hardcore ones and show some of this equipment. That should give them a good laugh, or possibly a heart attack. On the other hand I better not or they will have us all committed. Oh wait they can't do that as we are already in an asylum. If I didn't love music so much I would turn in my audiophile card. Some how I will have to live with the fact that this stuff exists although in reality I don't know if I can.

Seriously I have no desire to look at equipment way beyond my price range and living standard any more than I can to look at sports cars. My head is not in the sand, and I do sometimes go to high end Stereo stores not just Best Buy or Circuit City. In fact I never got to hear the SCD-1 because a $5,000 SACD player was too expensive for a high end store, they carried the 777ES for $3,500 which I did love the sound of but I could never afford it anyway. They did offer the SCD-1 by special order. But by the standards of this post the SCD-1 is dirt cheap at $5,000, what I am trying to say out in the real world the SCD-1 is damned expensive, damned expensive indeed!
