I said "for instance if" prior to:
$100 - $299 (=) entry level for an SACD player
$300 - $499 (=) mid-fi level for an SACD player
$500 - $999 (=) affordable high end for an SACD player
$1,000 - $1,999 (=) high end for an SACD player
$2,000 - $5,000 (=) statement level for an SACD player
what does $15,000 represent?
These are my guesses based on pricing of SACD players, that is why I said "for instance if". If anything I would want the prices lower not higher than listed but this is about what SACD players cost. I am sorry but I call um like I see um! You call it stupid but most "statement" players by the high end companies are between $2,000 and $5,000 such as the Ayre, Cary and others. Classe Audio was extremely bold to break the $5,000 window with it's $7,000 player and now this, what is coming next a $30,000 player? What parts and craftsmanship can be in such a device to warrant a price as high as a car? Totally and completely insane pricing, and nobody but us wacky audiophiles would even believe it. I consider myself an audiophile but I am still in total and complete shock. $15,000 oh my god!!!!
Ozzy all I can say is I disagree with your post 100%.
