Have you looked at the rest of Mike's equipment prices? There is a degree of realism and balance there (especially considering the size of his vinyl, CD and SACD collections and I'm sure his tape collection in the future :)

I too have a digital source that you term a rip-off, but like Mike (but in a smaller degree) compared the rest of my equipment and the size of my SACD/CD/DAD/DVD-A collection it's not outrageous and (till I visit Mike, hopefully tomorrow) it is the best I've heard and to me it's value is outstanding.

Do I wish it cost less? Sure, but that's not the point.
