This is not a real world component and I know it is hard to assign price point to sound quality but in the realm of SACD.for instance if
$100 - $299 (=) entry level for an SACD player
$300 - $499 (=) mid-fi level for an SACD player
$500 - $999 (=) affordable high end for an SACD player
$1,000 - $1,999 (=) high end for an SACD player
$2,000 - $5,000 (=) statement level for an SACD player
what does $15,000 represent?I understand what you are saying, but this is an outrageous price even for high end.
I know of no single high end top calibre product where $15,000 is a bargain. Not one single one!
BTW I would not review something so grossly overpriced, I have always believed in real world products made to the highest musical standards. I do not believe any single component should sell for over $1,000 with the exception of a special no cost "statement" product and that should be super easy to do for $3,000 - $5,000.
This has lot to do with everything as the price is just too absurd even using the best state of the art component parts there is no way a $15,000 component can be anything but a rip-off. It is my duty to point this out for balance so readers don't accept this type of pricing as reality. Unless of course a free car is included with your SACD player. (;-)
