There is a Sony S9000ES modded To lev 5 by VSE on the gon now at $1200. Lev 5 to 6 is $200. There is still probably warranty time left on the [mods only] original 5 yr warranty. A newly modded 9000es is about $1800 for just the mods, for lev 1thru 6. I would find out who did the mod, when, how many hours played, and offer $9000. Bill the east coast VSE agent feels there was only one SACD player he liked better than a lev 6 modded 9000ES, and it was $16,000. Yes it is awesome. If one of these fails its almost always the laser/drive motor assembly which is readily available installed by Bill for $200.
