Pick up the Oppo and buy the extended three year warranty for $45.00. I'm happy with mine so far and have some piece of mind that it'll still be working in a few years. I replaced a Denon 2900 that died after a short time. I figured I could spend a couple hundred to get it fixed and then risk having more problems and still no warranty or spend the same on a new Oppo with a warranty. I'm starting to think from reading the numerous post about problems with SACD players on this forum that spending a ton of cash on a player doesn't mean it's going to last any longer than a less expensive one. I spent almost a grand on my Denon and while I've had it for over a couple of years it had very, very low hours on it since 95% of my listening was still done on an older RBCD transport/DA combo and the Denon was only used for the occasional SACD or DVD-A playback session. I'll admit that the Oppo isn't quite up to the Denon's sound quality but it's pretty darn close to my ears and I just cannot keep spending a ton of money buying, repairing, and replacing pricey audio gear.
