Hi-Rez Highway

I would recommend the following FIM SACDs to you...

...as a good starting point, LiquidMidrange:

*River of Sorrow* FIM SACD 032 (Traditional Chinese instruments in a smashing pure DSD recording)

*Antiphone Blues* FIM SACD 050 (Saxophone and organ in a brilliant reverberant sound space...blues and spirituals; analog master)

*Messiah* FIM SACD 039 (an excellent live performance from the Swedish Radio Symphony and the Stockholm Bach Choir, 1982; analog master)

*Audiophile Reference IV* FIM SACD 029 (a very fine compilation of tracks from other FIM SACDs, and useful for listening as well as system test tracks; analog masters)

*Arabesque* FIM SACD 045 (an exceptional and eclectic collection of harp music by Isabelle Perrin, accompanied by the Northwest Sinfonietta; pure DSD master)

*Five Songbirds* FIM SACD 048 (sampler of works by Esther Ofarims, Jacintha, Patricia Barber, Ayako Hosokawa, and Marie Nakamoto, for those who like using female vocalists for reference; various masters)

*The Artistry of Teresa Perez* FIM SACD M041 (sampler of Cello works, various composers, various venues and orchestras, some in stereo, some in multi-channel; various masters)

*Oh! That Stradivarius!* FIM SACD 031 (sampler of the violin artistry of Linda Rosenthal taken from three prior recordings; various venues, various accompanists, various masters)

I don't know your taste in music, so am making a broad sweep. I own many more of his SACDs, and wouldn't part with any of them. In general, I can say that Winston Ma's superlative sensibilities and production values and Paul Stubblebine's mastering make anything that FIM produces worth consideration, at the least. The Vivaldi that you have gives you indication of the kind of superior work that FIM does; you'll see it repeated in my recommendations above.

I hope this helps you.

All the best,

david
