I tried the canned air. It seems to have improved things.
The issue is: When playing standard Red Book CD's. Plays perfectly.
Red Book layer on a hybrid SACD, plays perfectly.
SACD only disk, plays perfectly.
SACD layer on numerous hybrid disks, the machine when set to play the SACD layer will take a long time reading the TOC, then switches to Red Book.
When I do get other hybrid SACD's to play, they play pretty much in a normal fashion, but with distinct motor noise. Could a dirty lens cause this?
If all fails, I might look at a new SACD player. Usually for Red Book disks I have a Chord Red Reference that I listen to.
