I'm sure people said that about the SCD-1. I'm sure people said that even more forcefully about the Esoterics. Both turned out to be great platforms for some very extensive and musical modifications. Of course we expect that due care and attention will be taken by the modifier, but in general, I remain skeptical regarding your assertion.
