*****Bottom line, digital and analog will always sound different****Agreed
Some say "well a SOTA vinyl rig or even a even a "mere" $30,000 rig will top the best SACD". Maybe, maybe not, because when you get right down to it the *sound* of vinyl matters *far* more than the cost of the rig. This is true even when you factor in the numerous variables that make one vinyl rig sound vastly different from one another. I know of those that own or have access to $100,000+ vinyl rigs and those that have vinyl rigs that cost under $1000. What do they have in common? They both say the same thing: their vinyl rigs betters any digital they have heard. So cost is not *the* factor. There is "something" intrinsic to vinyl sound, probably the RIAA equalization, that can makes vinyl seductive and a skewed standard.
If vinyl is your standard then, of course, only vinyl can match or beat that standard. I strive for a higher standard.
