Dead right it's all about balancing out the limitations of reproduction in such a way they don't bring attention to themselves, and I wonder what would happen if somone modded turntables in the same way as digital sources, increasing resolution while also reducing any distortion/colouration.

I think many owners of modded turntables would complain that the sound was too digital. :0)
