I can't answer you question directly, but I can provide a data point. At one time I considered downsizing from a SA-7S1 to a SA-11S2. The reason was because I could sell my SA-7S1 for about the price I paid for it AND a well known (Marantz authorized) Audiogon dealer was offering a SA-11S2 at an attractive price. I could pocket the difference.

Of course I only would have done this if the SA-11S2 was close enough to the SA-7S1. When I approached the Audiogon dealer with this idea, he suggested I keep the SA-7S1. When a dealer tells you NOT to buy something from him, you listen!
