I have a modwright Sony DVP9000ES with tubed output, which suddenly stopped working. There is A CD stuck inside. When the unit is turned on it makes a humming sound and then switches off. I sent the unit off to Modwright. They are 95% certain that the mother board is kaput, and is no longer available. I am presently trying to obtain a second unit for parts, but I keep getting outbid on Ebay. I'm trying not to pay much over $300. Its a great sounding unit, but does it make sense to put more money into an old design? My backup unit is a pioneer DV563A which came with my condo. It plays everything including hybred sacds without any issues, but the sound quality is not nearly as good.
