the report I received suggested that the mod I made makes the biggest difference in sound for SACD. Other mods do help with CD, but the SACD improvement is not all that great, if I understand things correctly. Since my CD player is so far superior to the 8260- I can't even listen to CDs on it- I really have no interest in trying to improve that aspect of its playback a bit.

My next step would be to get a really top-notch SACD player, but I'd love to hear the comparison you are seeking first. It would be intersting to put my 8260 in the mix to see how much you gain for the large increase in dollars. This goes to the question I asked a few weeks ago: how much better do the players get as you up the quality range. For my ears I know that my CD player is getting close to the very best I have heard at any price.
