Denon 2910 - Pure Direct Feature with Modes 1 & 2

Hello,
I understand the basic purpose is to turn off the video circuitry to improve sound. A few questions for those who understand this feature:
**Does is work on all formats, SACD, DVD-A, and CD?
**Does Mode 1 & Mode 2 perform any sound processing...what does each do?
**Which Mode sounds best if I'm looking for a more laid back, less forward presentation?
**How do I put the Mode I like best in memory?
**How should I best use this feature for SACDs and CDs?
