PCM = Pulse Code Modulation - used in RBCD layer
DSD = Direct Stream Digital - used in SACD layer

Two different kind of "writing/reading" data on optical discs. Don't ask me tech details...because I don't know. Who cares...as long as you enjoy the music :-)
